14 FEBRARY: ST. VALENTINE' S DAY

The history began about 1800 years ago in Rome, when the Emperor Claudius needed soldiers to the war. The married men didn't want to go and to leave their wives alone. So the Emperor decided to prohibit the marriages to the Romans, but a priest called Valentine helped the men and the women to marry in secret. The Emperor Claudius caught him and he put him in the prison. While Valentine was in the prison he wrote a letter to a young girl of when he was in love. He signed it as "Your Valentine". Today, people still sign their Valentine cards the same way.
